A bold leap in battery life meets a slim, premium design. A tipster going by Digital Chat Station claims an upcoming device will pair an ultra-large 10,000mAh battery with a sleek profile under 8.5mm thick, delivering both remarkable endurance and a refined in-hand feel. In a Weibo post, the tipster notes support for 100W wired charging and full-speed wireless charging, all while maintaining a slim chassis.
While the brand isn’t explicitly named, clues point toward a Redmi K90 Ultra. Digital Chat Station suggested this device would sit in a performance-oriented sub-series and likely run a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9-series chipset.
This represents a notable upgrade over the Redmi K90 Pro Max, which houses a 7,560mAh battery. Earlier chatter floated an 8,000mAh cell, but it now appears Xiaomi has accommodated a larger 10,000mAh pack without sacrificing the lean form factor.
In response to a user question about thickening the device to 9.5mm to fit more battery, the tipster quipped,
"So you completely don’t care about in-hand feel?" This implies the manufacturer is prioritizing ergonomics and comfort alongside long battery life.
The tipster also dismissed rumors of using mid-range processors such as the Snapdragon 7 series or Dimensity 8000 series, replying with a provocative question: "Don’t you want a top-tier processor?" signaling an expectation of flagship-grade silicon.
Preliminary specifications previously leaked suggest a newly developed flat display around 6.8 inches, likely 1.5K resolution with a 165Hz LTPS refresh rate. The design is expected to feature a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and enhanced water and dust resistance.
The trend toward higher-capacity batteries isn’t limited to Xiaomi. OnePlus is reportedly targeting a 9,000mAh battery for its upcoming Turbo series, indicating a broader industry shift toward endurance-focused phones paired with high-refresh-rate screens.
